This venue is a nightmare to get to / from

I was lucky enough to take advantage of the summer lawn pass at North Island Credit Union all summer long. I have had mixed experiences with arriving and departing at the venue but the constant has been the outstanding quality and diversity of the acts and Rufus was no exception. Sadly the experience all summer for shows on Fri/Sat/Sun has been mired by appealing traffic control causing us to miss openers and adding two hours to the end of the set for departure whether driving privately or using rideshare. This experienced was mirrored on a Wednesday for Rufus Du Sol largely due to the quantity of fans that act draws giving it the feel of a weekend gig however in the middle of a work week it was a lot less forgiveable. Something needs to be done about the road closures, lack of entrances and exits, the rideshare pick up point and its proximity to the venue with temporary road diversions causing havoc for rideshare drivers and riders and the general public. After my experience on Wednesday I had no choice but to cancel plans to attend the final pass show for Jack Johnson two days later and by all accounts the situation was even worse. Live Nation has a responsibility to fix the arrival/departure logistics because currently the great venue sound and feel, the quality of the bookings and the helpfulness of event staff isn't enough to convince me to go back until it is.

Loved Rufus but

I always enjoy live music especially when I waited 2years for them to come back from a canceled tour due to Covid. Rufus was amazing live but the venue lacked a little. It wasn’t well laid out. This happened to be on a very cold night in October and there really wasn’t a way to keep warm. I noticed one heater and fires only for VIP. It was cold. The sound could have been pretty great except there were multiple difficulties. It kept going out. As many as 4/5 times in one song. What a bummer. I would love to see Rufus again but not at this venue. They were originally planned for the pageant which would have been MUCH better.
